My child is not playing as much with others

A research study done in 2019 observed 3 years old children in the daycare and watched them roam around in the daycare both inside and outside. They were particularly looking at the difference among children with autism spectrum disorder, prematurity with very low birth weight and those who were typically developing. They found that children with autism spectrum disorder were not playing with others and liked to turn a lot more and a higher speed, moved around a lot more and tended to be moving in the outside of the room or the playground, rather than in the middle, where all of the other children were playing. Those with autism also had more difficulties with their motor and thinking scores. The article points out how important it is to identify children early in their development, as this is when it is possible to make so many changes in their development. Their brains, at this point, are very changeable. That is why Early Intervention, for children is so...important, the first 5 years are very important. Usually a large team of Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Specialists and Physiotherapists are ready to help your child who is not playing with others. Une étude réalisée en 2019 a observé des enfants de 3 ans dans une garderie et les a regardés se déplacer à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de la garderie. Les chercheurs ont particulièrement étudié la différence entre les enfants atteints de troubles du spectre autistique, de prématurité avec un poids très faible à la naissance et ceux qui se développaient normalement. Ils ont constaté que les enfants atteints de troubles du spectre autistique aimaient tourner beaucoup plus et à une vitesse plus élevée, qu'ils se déplaçaient beaucoup plus et qu'ils avaient tendance à se déplacer à l'extérieur de la pièce ou de la cour de récréation, plutôt qu'au milieu, où tous les autres enfants jouaient. Les enfants autistes avaient également plus de difficultés sur le plan de la motricité et de la réflexion. L'article souligne à quel point il est important d'identifier les enfants à un stade précoce de leur développement, car c'est à ce moment-là qu'il est possible d'apporter de nombreux changements à leur développement. À ce stade, leur cerveau est très changeant. C'est pourquoi l'intervention précoce auprès des enfants est si... importante. En général, une grande équipe d'orthophonistes, d'ergothérapeutes, de spécialistes du comportement et de physiothérapeutes est prête à aider votre enfant.
